Like me, you’re reeling from the horrible tragedy at First Baptist Church in Texas. The shooter’s rampage killed twenty-six people; the youngest victim was an unborn child. An additional twenty people were injured. What lurks in the heart of a mass killer? The assailant had professed to be an atheist. Lately we’ve seen far too many tragedies like this. It’s a reflection America desperately needs Jesus. Far too many in our nation look to earthly things to encourage, uplift and satisfy them. Without Jesus in our hearts, these things will disappoint us every time. Please be in prayer for the wounded, pray for the families and friends of all those affected. Please also be in fervent prayer for our nation—that the Holy Spirit will move among us and Jesus will reign in the hearts of mankind.
