Jennifer Christie was a victim of brutal rape and left for dead. She became pregnant by the assailant and has a son. Jennifer says she’s been called “amazing.” Even though she appreciates the heart of the person who said that, she asks us to think about it for a moment. She was called an “amazing” woman because she loves her son. Would you be offended for being called an “amazing” parent because you love your child? Her son is her child. He’s her husband’s child. More importantly, she says, he’s a child of God. Jennifer says an innocent child should never bear the anger and vitriol intended for the criminal. I call her “amazing” for another reason. Jennifer is daily working to forgive the man who sexually assaulted her — who intended to kill her.
