Pro-life legislation has advanced to the US Supreme Court, and it has put abortion advocates in a panic. In a desperate attempt to destigmatize abortion, Hollywood has been parading before the public celebrities who celebrate past abortions.
Americans see through this propaganda.
The combination of cavalier attitudes and revelation of the women’s true feelings is causing the façade of unbridled abortion to crumble beneath their own words.
Recently, actress Lesley-Ann Brandt, known for her role in the Netflix series Lucifer, publicly wrote about her abortion. “In my case, I simply wasn’t ready. That’s it, and that’s good enough. I didn’t want to be a mother at that moment in my life.”
Last year actress Michelle Williams generated both sadness and anger when visibly pregnant she accepted her Golden Globe award and paid homage to abortion. It was what made it possible, she said, to stand before the audience and accepting their accolades. Decades later when the award sits in dusty storage, will the painful memory of her lost child come to visit?
Actress Uma Thurman wrote about her abortion 30 years earlier. “I have no regrets for the path I have traveled,” she asserted. However, Thurman’s words betray her casual statement. She admitted the abortion “was the hardest decision of my life, one that caused me anguish then and that saddens me even now.” Until the op-ed in the Washington Post, the abortion had been Thurman’s “darkest secret” and in truth she wanted to keep her baby.
Known abortion advocate, actress Alyssa Milano spoke on a podcast about having two abortions in one year in her twenties. The abortions, she said, were not something she wanted, but something she needed.
Milano confessed to feeling her miscarriages that followed were punishment for the abortions. And she admitted to living in fear that something bad would happen to her two living children because of the abortions. Milano was exhibiting classic post-traumatic responses to abortion experienced by countless other women.
Surrounded by the Hollywood notion that abortion for any reason until birth is a sacred right, these women displayed a desperate attempt to persuade themselves and others that their decisions to abort their babies were both warranted and morally compelling.
But the words of these celebrities demonstrate that they and literally millions of other women agonize about their abortions because in their heart of hearts they know that nestled beneath theirs was another beating heart – that of their babies.

The politics of abortion on demand without apology are running roughshod over the welfare of women and their babies. Look at the uncompromising view of pro-abortion organizations like Planned Parenthood, NARAL, NOW and others. No abortion rights group worth its salt would tolerate any reason to deny the moral high ground for an abortion.
The Mississippi State Legislature wasn’t functioning in a vacuum when they passed a 15-week limit on late term abortion. They acknowledge the truth that most late term abortions are not done out of medical necessity. And they recognize that women deserve better than abortion.
Let’s hope the US Supreme Court Justices use wisdom in ruling on the Dobbs late term abortion case. Let’s cover them in prayer. Until the evil of legal abortion is ended, there will always be victimized women like these celebrities.
