During a 12-week ultrasound, Kimberly James and her husband learned their unborn daughter had a physical condition with a 50% chance of survival. Three or four medical personnel forcefully advised them to abort. They got a second opinion which confirmed the diagnosis, but were steadfast in their decision not to abort their daughter. Four weeks later, another ultrasound showed no evidence of the condition, and Penelope was born healthy. Doctors were shocked and couldn’t explain the positive turn of events. I share this story with you because many parents are advised to abort when there’s a sign of a problem. Just like any other time in life, we must put our trust in God. Abortion is never the solution, and sometimes we get a miracle.
