The meaning of Memorial Day is sadly lost on many Americans. I pray that’s not the case with you. It’s not Bar-b-que Day, Long-Weekend Day or simply an opportunity to sleep in. It’s when we honor active duty men and women who’ve given their lives to protect our freedom. They’ve unselfishly shed their blood on battlefields throughout the world, laying down their lives so you and I can practice the religion of our choice and be able to speak our mind on social media or anywhere else. I have a deep and abiding love for those who serve our country in uniform, including my son, who served in Iraq. Every chance you get, please thank them for their service, no matter how far in the past. Pray for our soldiers in harm’s way and ask the Lord to comfort friends and family of those we honor today.
