Fresh out of high school, our son, Nick decided to join the Army. It was during the height of the war in the Middle East, so I reminded him that he’d be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. Without hesitation and with determination in his eyes, he answered, “Yes, I know.” John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” Nick and countless other brave women and men were deployed and placed their lives on the line to protect our freedom. Many demonstrated no greater love by dying for our country. On Veteran’s Day and every day, thank those who’ve gallantly served our nation. Pray for our active-duty soldiers and their families. They’re paying an enormous sacrifice by offering no greater love.
