Elinor Barker won silver with her cycling team at the Tokyo Summer Olympics, and she was pregnant when she did it. This’ll be the first baby for Elinor and her husband, Casper. She posted pictures on her Instagram account and said that in the last image with her team wearing their silver medals, she had the positive pregnancy test in her pocket. Elinor publicly thanked the female athletes before her who paved the way for pregnant women to compete – and win. Pregnant female athletes face intense pressure to abort their babies under the false assumption they must choose between their careers or their children. As more women come forward, that pressure will lose steam and more women will have it all – their medals and their babies. Congratulations Elinor. Well done!
