For nearly 100 years, the Gerber baby food company has used a baby’s face in their marketing. Now, they select a new baby each year to represent the company. Two years ago, it was Lucas Warren who has Down syndrome. This year it’s Magnolia, the first known adopted baby to represent them. She’s a real cutie! During a TV interview, Magnolia’s mom thanked her birth parents for choosing life and placing her for adoption. These seemingly minor marketing events by Gerber and a growing number of companies are a positive sign society is changing, that it sees the value in human life, regardless of circumstances. Gerber gets it. They know their future is in babies. Without taking a public stand on abortion, they’re growing their customer base.
