COVID19 creates ripples in American life—medical, social, economic. The disruption in the food chain has caused farmers to euthanize many livestock and, in the process, it revealed a spiteful bias against pro-lifers by the media. Reuters published an article about a farmer forced to abort unborn pigs. The reporter didn’t call them pig fetuses, but “baby pigs, piglets” and even “victims.” Yet rules in the Reuters handbook say reporters must call us “anti-abortion campaigners,” avoid the word “abortionist,” and always call an unborn child a “fetus,” not “unborn baby.” The media demonstrate compassion and value to pigs, while kicking the unborn to the curb.
