Choosing Life over Careers

When a couple is facing a serious prenatal diagnosis of their unborn baby, doctors often counsel them to abort the child.  Tragically, many do.  Here’s a shining example of the opposite.  Congressman Sean Duffy and his wife Rachel found out there were serious issues with their unborn child, including a heart condition.  Instead of aborting the baby, and after much prayer, Mr. Duffy announced he would resign from Congress.  The parents’ priority is now helping their baby due in October, as well as their other eight children.  In my book, these are the people who achieve hero status.  Sean and Rachel are putting the needs of their children before careers and popular achievements.  We should all be praying for their baby, and the entire family.
