Viagra Medical Trial Kills Babies

Bradley Mattes   |   September 12, 2018

A medical trial in the Netherlands took a tragic turn.  Women whose unborn babies were experiencing growth deficiencies were given Viagra.  The hope was the drug would increase blood flow in the placenta and help the babies’ development.  Women were given the drug in 10 hospitals across the country, while a control group was given a placebo.  It was to be a five-year study, but things didn’t go as planned.  Several babies were born prematurely and soon died after birth.  The Viagra caused high blood pressure in the babies’ lungs which caused a lack of oxygen.  Several more women are now anxiously waiting to see if their babies will also be affected.  The Dutch trial was canceled, and the another in Canada paused.  Sadly, it was good intentions with heartbreaking results.
