Biased Researchers Find Waiting Periods Help Women

Bradley Mattes   |   May 31, 2017

Pro-abortion analysts at the University of California-San Francisco examined data of 500 Utah women who were subject to a 72-hour waiting period before they could have an abortion.  The biased researchers said the law “burdened women with financial costs [and] legal hassles.”  But a follow-up with 300 of the women revealed the waiting period did persuade some women to change their minds about the abortion.  To date, I’ve had about a dozen surgeries, and except for one which was an emergency, I waited far longer than 72 hours to have the procedures.  And I was fully informed of their possible ramifications.  Abortion’s a surgical procedure that kills the mother’s unborn baby.  She can’t have a do-over, so a waiting period is a protection for them.
