Holland Euthanizing Demented Patients

Bradley Mattes   |   January 20, 2016

When euthanasia was legalized in Holland, they claimed strict safeguards would prevent patients from being killed against their will.  After recently legalizing euthanasia of children, they’re now euthanizing demented patients, such as Alzheimer’s.  The patient must have signed an advance directive, but it could’ve been years ago, and there’s no effort to see if the person has changed their mind.  It’s legal even if the person can’t say yes or no to euthanasia.  The reason they’ve sunk to this new low is because some so-called doctors are already doing it.  If doctors break the law, officials respond by changing the law so the lawbreakers are now legal.  Their claims of strict safeguards would be laughable if the result wasn’t so tragic.  It’s echoes of Nazi Germany.
