Partnering to Fight Genocide

ve8QAd   |   December 12, 2014

A racial genocide is unfolding in America. This is not mere political hyperbole. The abortion industry is intentionally targeting women of color. According to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute—first established to be the research arm of Planned Parenthood—African-American men and women make up 13 percent of the population, but Black women account for 30 percent of all abortions in the US. Their statistics show that Black women are three times more likely to have an abortion than White women.

To help counter this racist eugenics agenda, we brought on board Pastor Arnold M. Culbreath to direct our Urban Outreach department.

Research done by Protecting Black Life, an outreach of Life Issues Institute, firmly documents that 79 percent of Planned Parenthood surgical abortion facilities are within walking distance of neighborhoods with a high percentage of Black or Hispanic population.  Planned Parenthood is locating their killing centers in neighborhoods where women of color live, targeting them for abortion. Dramatic visual maps, using Census track data, instantaneously show their aggressive marketing plan to abort Black and Hispanic babies.

But the abortion mills don’t always hit their “targets.” Faced with an unexpected pregnancy, many women seek shelter and protection at one of America’s many pro-life pregnancy resource centers (PRC). They provide an array of free services for women facing an unexpected pregnancy. These include free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, parenting classes and assorted baby items, and some even offer testing for sexually transmitted diseases.  Free post-abortion counseling is also available to parents who have experienced abortion and now struggle with their decision.

Arnold_speechPRCs also work to connect women with area churches that assist them with spiritual and physical needs. But in the past, it’s been difficult for PRCs to establish effective partnerships with Black churches in underserved areas of the city. Arnold is leading a novel approach to bridge the gap between pregnancy resource centers and Black churches in their communities.

Several PRCs ask Pastor Culbreath to speak at their annual fundraising banquets. Now he works to develop strategic short, mid- and long-range plans to maximize his visit. Once the banquet date is confirmed, he works with the center backwards from that time to schedule conference calls with the PRC director and board, in part to make sure they’re both on the same page in their passion to more effectively reach out to the Black community.

Calls to network with African-American influencers are also made to build relationships and educate them regarding abortion’s alarming impact on the Black community. In addition, Pastor Culbreath helps them see how their churches can partner with the center to save more babies and minister to more souls in need.

Arnold isn’t alone. He’s a founding member of the National Black Pro-Life Coalition. And everyAronold Black pro-life leader brings an excellent skill set to the table. I recently interviewed five of them at Cincinnati’s National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. I encourage you to watch this special two-part TV episode of Facing Life Head-On to find out what they’re doing to end abortion in the Black community.

Arnold has a unique and crucial understanding of how history is repeating in the Black community:

“I believe PRCs are to the pro-life movement what the Underground Railroad was to the abolitionist movement. Quietly and inconspicuously, diligently and compassionately, one day at a time, one woman at a time, pregnancy resource centers rescue babies from probable death, much like those in the Underground Railroad helped to usher slaves from bondage and often death.”

Life Issues Institute is more than happy to share our expertise and insights with those who can benefit. Please contact us by email or at 513.729.3600.

In order to turn back the tide of abortion-on-demand in America, we must partner with the Black community to protect unborn babies of every race. Protecting Black Life is proving to be an essential tool in making this happen.
