Every Christmas I watch The Nativity Story. This film realistically captures the scenarios Joseph and Mary faced, first with an unwed pregnancy, their travel to Bethlehem and ultimately the birth of our Savior. The scene of adoration of the shepherds is breathtaking. The film shows me that even though Mary was the mother of God made flesh, it wasn’t easy going for this young couple. Life was hard, from battling Nazareth gossip to fleeing to Egypt to escape King Herod. You and I can learn from this example in our daily lives. Even as children of God, Life can be hard. Facing an unplanned pregnancy, changing diapers, getting little sleep. Whatever the challenges, know that God is watching over you and your baby as well as He did His own son. Merry Christmas!
