Good News from Chile

Bradley Mattes   |   December 04, 2014

Here’s more encouraging news from Chile. This country ended abortion in nineteen-eighty-nine. Afterward, research showed an improvement in women’s health and a decrease in abortion-related deaths of women. Pro-abortion activist say we must have legal abortion because women will be injured when resorting to illegal abortion. Chile’s new research shows the opposite. Complications from illegal abortion that requires hospitalization have decreased by twenty percent over the last decade. The research also shows seventy-percent of women who became unexpectedly pregnant wanted an abortion because of coercion and fear. And programs for these vulnerable abortion-minded women prevented a vast majority of illegal abortions. Good work Chile!
