Same Disease But Very Different Responses

Yesterday it was announced that Brittany Maynard was true to her word and committed suicide due to her malignant brain tumor.  Brittany took the lethal medicine prescribed for her in spite of many people reaching out to her.  Meanwhile, Lauren Hill faced down her brain tumor by playing her first college basketball game in Cincinnati.  Same disease but two very different responses by very different women.  Lauren will be remembered as a courageous and persevering role model for generations of young women.  Sadly, Brittany Maynard will only be remembered as a suicide advocate.  Lauren is squeezing out of her cancer-inflicted body every ounce of life that God grants her, while Brittany rejected the perfect plan for her final days that the Author of Life had lovingly intended. Let’s pray for both families.
