A Baker’s Dozen of Boys

Bradley Mattes   |   November 12, 2014

I’m the second of five boys and my wife and I were blessed with four sons.  But Kateri and Jay Schwandt are the experts at raising boys.  They have twelve of them, with number thirteen on the way.  Dad says he’d love to have a girl and would like to see how adding one to the family mix affects things.  Mom has a different opinion which may surprise you.  She says they have things pretty much figured out so “Why change things up?”  I’ve no doubt the boys are better off with all these brothers.  The older ones teach the younger which makes for better fathers and men.  They have a natural respect for life.  Regarding number thirteen, Dad pulled out his old high school football jersey.  In addition to his name there was the number thirteen.
