Cincinnati, OH (Aug 15, 2012) – I was dismayed to hear of yet another shooting this morning. A security guard was shot at the DC headquarters of the pro-life group, Family Research Council (FRC). As police investigate, I question will the media, government and other leaders take notice? Or will this event not make the headlines because of the nature of FRC’s mission?
According to a Fox News report, “A suspect walked in and started yelling about things they (FRC) supported and opened fire.” Their source states that the suspect “made statements regarding their policies, and then opened fire with a gun, striking a security guard.”
This is a tragic act of inexcusable violence. Our prayers go out to those victimized at the Family Research Council this morning. It’s further evidence of the growing and violent intolerance of those who oppose the Christ-centered message espoused by this organization.
Yet, will this be treated with equal outrage by those who disagree with the pro-life view?
I challenge those opposed to the mission of FRC to vigorously condemn this latest act of domestic terrorism against Christians.
