Education Reduced Maternal Mortality

Bradley Mattes   |   May 15, 2012

For years people at the United Nations and other pro-abortion activists have been saying the world needs legal, safe abortion because it will reduce maternal mortality rates. An important study just came out of Chile. Scientists studied 50 years of data and found abortion’s not the answer—education is. Their research showed for every additional year of education in women, there’s a corresponding decrease in maternal mortality. And after Chile made abortion illegal in 1989, it dropped a whopping 69 percent. The UN said one of their goals is to reduce maternal mortality. If this is true, they should be advocating education for the women of the world, not the killing of their unborn babies. But let’s see if true concern for women or political correctness rules the day.
