Olympic Medals and White Flags

My wife and I aren’t avid TV watchers. But we made it a regular event during the Winter Olympics. What draws us to these athletes is their incredible self-control, discipline and exact training they undertake for years to become the best in the world at what they do. So it seemed outrageous the Olympic Committee gave out free condoms to these athletes for whom they say, “Flirting is natural as breathing.” This acts to undermine the central message these great athletes send to the world’s youth. It says they can control everything but their sexual drive. They can demonstrate incredible self-control and discipline to become Olympic medal winners, but should automatically wave the white flag when it comes to premarital sex. What a cold and heartless thing to do to our youth.
