Obama Stripping Conscience Regulations

A year ago Barack Obama began dismantling conscience regulations protecting health care professionals from being pressured or forced into participating in abortion or other procedures they find morally objectionable. Here’s why Mr. Obama’s action is so dangerous. During the special Senate race in Massachusetts, Martha Coakley, the losing candidate, gave us a peek into future politics. She was questioned about conscience rights for health care workers who don’t want to participate in killing unborn children. Ms. Coakley’s response was astounding! She said it’s okay to have the freedom not to participate, but then in her words, “you probably shouldn’t work in the emergency room.” In her view, people with medical ethics should lose their jobs. We desperately need these conscience regulations.
