Rabbis Say Abortion Delaying Messiah

Israel’s two chief rabbis are stepping up their campaign against abortion. They recently sent a letter to many other rabbis which says legal abortion is delaying the coming of the messiah. Of course you and I know Jesus has already arrived and completed His task for this sinful world. But in Israel, those of the Jewish faith are still waiting. The chief rabbis say abortion is an epidemic that’s costing thousands of Jewish souls each year, with a half-million killed to date. This point-of-view comes from a passage in the Talmud which says redemption won’t happen until “all the souls are brought out of their storing place.” And they believe abortion is seriously delaying this from happening. Maybe this ongoing effort is working. The number of abortions in Israel is declining.
