Religious Schools and Abortion

According to a recent study, just because your child goes to a religious school doesn’t mean she’s less likely to have an abortion. On the contrary, they found abortion rates are higher, in part because of guilt and a fear of others knowing they’re sexually active. If this research is true, it shows us a couple of important things. All children, regardless of religious background, need to be educated on the reality of abortion. Secondly, our kids need to know they can come to us for help no matter what. A majority of women and men who’ve chosen abortion usually say one of two things: They didn’t know it was a baby—thought it was a mass of cells. And they didn’t think they had any other choice. As a parent, the next move is up to you.
