Abstinence Protects Teen Mental Health
There’s a new study showing kids who save sex for marriage are more likely to have better mental health.
The research appeared in The Journal of Health Economics and has information all parents should pay attention to. Young girls who are sexually active frequently experience regret, shame, guilt and low self-esteem. These teens have more than double the rate of depression compared with those who abstain. This means all parents should promote a message of abstinence until marriage with their kids. It could go a long way in protecting their mental and physical well-being. There’s too much at risk, so don’t listen to those who say abstinence doesn’t work. We’re jeopardizing the health of our precious children when they get a message
of “safer sex” from their parents.
