Wide Contraception Availability Can Increase Abortion

A new study shows contraception’s wide availability doesn’t result in fewer abortions. The Alan Guttmacher Institute, the research arm of Planned Parenthood, has released new information. It indicates women in college and slightly older or younger get the most abortions – women in their twenties. These are precisely the segment of women who have the easiest access to contraception. They also possess the greatest knowledge about birth control. Yet they still lead with the highest number of abortions. Other countries show the same trend. After Sweden and Scotland made the morning after pill widely available, the number of abortions went up in both nations. It’s not true promoting contraception will decrease the number of pregnancies and abortions. It works the other way.
