Chocolate Good for Pregnancy

Here’s some news most every woman will appreciate. Chocolate may be good for your pregnancy. Chiefly, dark chocolate is rich in a chemical which stimulates the heart and aids in circulation. A recent study published in the May issue of Epidemiology suggests chocolate may prevent preeclampsia during the last trimester of pregnancy. This is a condition in which blood pressure spikes. The only treatment for this life-threatening condition is delivering the baby. The danger, of course, is delivering too early. Women who ate chocolate five or more times each week were forty percent less likely to develop preeclampsia. Mom’s should consult with doctors and remember: everything in moderation. But it just may be a delicious perk while helping to ensure a healthy pregnancy.
