IVF May Cause Future Infertility
Experts say infertility is a growing global problem. New research seems to indicate one of the ways to resolve infertility may actually be causing more of it.
The British Medical Journal reports fifteen percent of couples face infertility. Close to half of them may be achieving conception through assisted reproductive technologies like in vitro fertilization or IVF. But researchers say infertility is genetically hereditary. And since IVF doesn’t resolve these genetic problems, they fear genetic infertility may become more prevalent with subsequent generations.
As more couples use IVF, infertility may become more common.
Other studies link increasing infertility rates to abortion, STDs and obesity.
Whatever the cause, children are a real blessing.
