A Courageous Stand for Life

Often times the only thing keeping a local hospital from getting into the abortion business is a religious affiliation. One religious leader, Cardinal Murphy O’Connor in London, deserves a medal for his pro-life courage. An investigation showed his faith-based hospital was referring women to abortionists. After a two-year battle, he asked the entire hospital board to resign to get the problem rectified. The Cardinal then handpicked a new chairman who will oversee the hospital’s adherence to medical ethics. In this case, there will be no more abortion referrals. I greatly admire Cardinal O’Connor’s leadership in protecting their most vulnerable segment of society – unborn babies. His boldness, especially in Europe, is a wonderful encouragement to all of us working to protect innocent human life.
