Medical History Made Part Two
Professor Yamanaka from Japan made headlines when he developed a way to get embryo-like stem cells from skin and other types of cells. This was a huge breakthrough because science could have the benefits of an elastic stem cell without killing a human embryo to get them. When other scientists replicated his work, medical history was made. But there was still a big hurdle to overcome. These reprogrammed cells had a tendency to form tumors in patients. Now Professor Yamanaka has provided another breakthrough by successfully growing these cells in mice for six months with no tumors. This will go a long way toward silencing his critics who say we still need to sacrifice human embryos for unproven science.
Science is a blessing from God if we use it correctly.
