A Truly Special Event
Flipping through my
calendar, I see an almost endless stream of meetings, phone
calls, interviews and deadlines. But, on April 11, my
wife and I have a particularly exciting event to attend, and we
hope you’ll join us.
We’re headed to
Indianapolis for the first annual Terri Schindler Schiavo
Life & Hope Concert.
Five years ago, Terri
tragically died after her husband won a lengthy court battle:
not to take her off life support — she was very much alive —
but to withhold food and water. Fourteen days later, she died
from severe dehydration. No family should have to endure what
Terri’s parents and siblings went through. But even in the
face of such heartbreak and loss, they continue to defend
others facing potentially life-threatening situations.
The Schindler family
banded together to form Terri’s Foundation, a non-profit
advocating for the people who cannot fight for
themselves. Among their many outstanding efforts, they are
assembling a national network of attorneys and doctors
committed to protecting the rights of the vulnerable through
activism and public awareness. And, along the way, the
Schindlers are spreading a message of true compassion to
grassroots groups, the media and political leaders.
That’s why the Life
& Hope Concert is so exciting. It features country stars
Collin Raye and Randy Travis, an all-star line-up for a
critically important cause, but best of all, it’s a fundraiser
to support the work of Terri’s Foundation. So, if you can get
to the Indianapolis area, please join me at the Murat Theatre
for a truly memorable night. And if the distance is too far,
know that you can still be a part of history by helping
to sponsor the concert. Please
show your support for life and
let the Schindler family know they are not alone.
