Solid Pro-Life Advocate Selected as McCain Running Mate
Governor Sarah Palin (R-AK) Confirmed as VP Choice
Life Issues Institute is
pleased to comment on Senator John McCain’s choice for his vice
presidential running mate. After a morning of swirling speculation,
McCain’s campaign confirmed Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as the republican
vice presidential candidate for 2008. Governor Sarah Palin is Alaska’s
first female governor, the mother of five — and at 44 is Alaska’s youngest
chief executive. Governor Palin is also considered a rising star in the
Republican Party and known for her strong pro-life stand.
Executive Director of
Life Issues Institute, Bradley Mattes, said this about the selection,
“Senator McCain made the best choice possible for a vice presidential
running mate. Governor Palin is a rock-solid pro-life advocate for the
unborn.”
Dr. Willke, President of
Life Issues Institute, continued, “Governor Sarah Palin, not only decided
to give birth to her fifth child recently knowing that ‘Trig’ had Down
syndrome; she used the event to emphatically speak out for life. As a
woman, independent Republican, strong pro-lifer and a fresh face, she will
certainly help the McCain ticket.”
Welcoming their child,
Governor Palin and her family expressed their joy, “Trig is beautiful and
already adored by us. We knew through early testing he would face special
challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this
gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives. We have faith
that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this
world a better place. We are truly blessed.”
We compliment Senator
McCain for a wise and refreshing choice for his running mate.
