Pro-abortion activists want abortion to be safe and legal. Let’s look at one chain of abortion mills in Southern California. They prey on poor Hispanic women who’re less likely to report shoddy practices to authorities. They’re now on the sixth abortionist. All previous ones have lost their medical license. They’ve killed women, one was a convicted sex offender, another lost his home and lived in his car. Another killed two babies during intended deliveries. One pro-life leader called the operation a “revolving door of abortion quacks” adding the abortion mills “resemble a crack house more than a medical office.” This adds to a body of evidence legal abortion, in a growing number of cases, is nowhere close to safe. It’s time to end abortion and protect women and children.

What if we could take the ultrasound machine to the pregnant woman contemplating abortion? In over a dozen areas of the nation it’s being done. Image Clear Ultrasound is equipping RVs with an ultrasound machine and retrofitting them with exam rooms. This enables pro-lifers to reach many women who wouldn’t otherwise get their help. The acronym, ICU, has a double meaning as in “I see you little baby.” Last year these mobile women help centers saved well over five hundred babies from abortion. And they’re sharing the message of Jesus with the mothers. Most abortion-minded women chose life for their babies after coming aboard one of these mobile centers. If you’re interested in details, visit today’s broadcast link at life issues dot org. It’s changing the landscape of pro-life counseling.

First Choice Pregnancy Services in Las Vegas is a pro-life clinic for women facing an unexpected pregnancy. They and many other centers daily deal with women who’re being forced or coerced into having an abortion. The clinic counters this with a graphic, true-to-life video of what abortion’s all about. Recently, a First Choice staff member overheard one of their clients tell her male companion, “I am NOT having an abortion! They let me watch a video that showed what the doctor would do to my baby and my body!” Many times the shocking truth of abortion empowers women to stand up to pressure and choose life for their babies. It enables them to make a life-affirming choice that both she and her baby can live with, and no regret of abortion.

Since President Obama has been in office, he’s pooh-poohed abstinence until marriage as unrealistic. And he stripped what little federal funding there was for it. But the Centers for Disease Control have released a study showing the President doesn’t know what he’s talking about. During most of the last decade, the number of teens and young adults who’ve practiced abstinence has dramatically risen. And these young people have avoided sexual activity of any kind, not just intercourse. Another study showed school kids who took part in abstinence education were less likely to engage in sex than students who were taught the so-called safe sex program. And parents, nobody has more influence with your children on this topic than you do. Keep teaching them abstinence until marriage.

A baby girl has been kept away from her parents for five years by welfare authorities. The mother’s crime was refusing to sign a consent form for a caesarean section during the birth of her daughter. The woman felt it was too soon to consider surgery at that point of her labor. She did indicate at the time, however, she’d sign the form if conditions later required a c-section to deliver her baby. This appalling outrage didn’t happen in some socialistic country. It was in St. Barnabas Hospital in New Jersey. Turns out the mother was right. She didn’t need the surgery. But that didn’t stop an overzealous government bureaucracy and court system from initiating a protracted legal battles. It now looks like an appeal may right the horrific wrong done to this family.

William Dinkel had an unhealthy fascination with suicide by hanging—not with his own, but of others. The former Minnesota nurse admitted to visiting online chats to prey on vulnerable people. Posing as a teenage girl, he persuaded two people to kill themselves. He encouraged a young woman girl to kill herself in front of a webcam so he could watch. An investigation linked Dinkel to the suicides, later admitting to police he did it for what he called the “thrill of the chase.” Dinkel’s attorney tried to get him off on the issue of free speech, which didn’t get very far. A court found him guilty of aiding two vulnerable people to commit suicide. He could get up to fifteen years in prison. I hope this will deter other twisted individuals from doing the same.

A firebomb was thrown at an elderly woman participating in Forty Days for Life, which is a peaceful, prayerful presence outside abortion mills. During an event in Kalispell, Montana an assailant threw a homemade bomb at the woman. Thankfully it missed her. Second to this near-tragic event was the response from the Kalispell police. It took them a long time to respond to the emergency call, and then he told them they should expect things like this if they’re going to protest. This is appalling. We shouldn’t expect Molotov cocktails when we’re exercising our right to free speech. Can you imagine the reaction if a pro-lifer had thrown this at an abortionist or pro-abortion activist? Homeland Security would have jumped on it and called us all terrorists. We need justice.

The House and Senate are locked in a battle whether or not to fund Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest chain of abortion mills. Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid and his pro-abortion colleagues are willing to shut down the government in order to the money flowing. In one year alone, more than three hundred sixty million of our tax dollars goes to fund this abortion giant. Pro-life leader and friend, Reverend Frank Pavone, had a great response. “If that’s the case then shut it down. When a government funds massive child-killing, it’s betrayed its very purpose anyway. Maybe a shutdown will give our government officials a chance to reflect on what government should be doing in the first place.” Visit today’s broadcast link at life issues dot org to contact your Congressman.

If you’re a mother, I’m sure your days are busy and full. But they probably aren’t as full as they were for a peasant woman in Russia. She set the record for the most babies birthed by one mother. According to Guinness World Records, she had sixty-nine children. You heard right. Of course it helps she had more than one at a time. Her pregnancies include sixteen pairs of twins, seven sets of triplets—and are you ready for this—four sets of quadruplets. It’s reported all but two of the children lived past infancy. I’ve never subscribed to Hillary Clinton’s opinion it takes a village to raise a child. In this case, the family was a village! Just imagine the generational legacy of this couple. Children truly are a gift from God and they were especially blessed.

The South Dakota State Legislature is once again on the cutting edge when it comes to protecting unborn babies and their mothers from abortion. A recently passed bill requires a seventy-two hour waiting period between first meeting with the abortionist and the actual abortion. This is three times longer than any other state. It also requires written evidence the woman has gone to a pro-life women help center to make sure she’s getting information on all of her options. Third, it requires the abortion mill to provide on-site counseling. But this time the abortionist must offer it himself. The longer a woman contemplates the true reality of abortion, the more likely she’ll choose life. God bless these lawmakers for standing in the gap to protect women and their babies.
