Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has a solid reputation for innovative surgery to save babies before they’re born. Case in point: Ultrasound showed a couple in Uruguay their baby had a tumor on his heart, three times bigger than his peanut-size organ. Their doctor happened to be a friend of the surgeon at Children’s, so they were flown up for emergency surgery. Little Juan was only about half-way through the pregnancy when he had the operation, yet it was successful. Doctors said waiting for the surgery a day longer may have been too late. It’s amazing how God has blessed us with such life-saving technology to do heart surgery in the womb. And it shows the beauty of how God knits us together underneath our mother’s heart. The Lord is good!
