It was an unexpected pregnancy for this poor unwed teenager in a town where this sort of thing wasn’t considered, much less done. Things got worse. The baby came while she was on a long, grueling trip and was forced to give birth in a dirty, dusty stable. But God had big plans for this baby. He even sent angels to announce his birth. Kings came from far away to worship Him. His name was Jesus. He would become the savior of the world. God has plans for every baby conceived, not just the Savior — many under tough conditions like Mary’s. But He loves them just the same and has a perfect plan for their lives. It’s Christmas. May we welcome every baby like we do Jesus. Let’s show an outpouring of love to them and their mothers.
