Mother and Child Bond

Bradley Mattes   |   November 22, 2016

Holli Cheung was a new mother when she contracted a rare and very serious virus called myocarditis, which affects the heart. After having a cardiac arrest in the hospital, doctors put her on a machine to keep her heart and lungs functioning. After many days, doctors put Holli on the heart transplant list as a precaution. Things looked pretty bleak and she was despondent without her baby. So her husband, Jason, in an effort to cheer Holli up, brought their son to the hospital and laid him next to her on the bed for a few hours. Amazingly, that night her heart began beating by itself again. Two weeks later she was entirely off the machine. The God-given bond between a mother and child is strong and effective.
