Pro-Life Laws Protect Health of Mothers Too

Bradley Mattes   |   March 09, 2015

New research shows countries that have more laws protecting women and their unborn babies from abortion have less maternal mortality rates.  A study conducted by an international panel of researchers looked at medical information in thirty-two Mexican states.  Their results were published in the British Medical Journal and show a twenty-three percent lower maternal mortality in states with pro-life laws.  Pro-abortion activists claim these protective laws mean more women will die by illegal abortion.  Not so.  The research shows there’s a nearly fifty-percent reduction in deaths by abortion in the states protecting the unborn.  This research is backed by a Stanford University study published in the Journal of Public Health Policy.  It’s proof laws protecting the unborn protect the mothers also.
