This week the staff and I have been busy responding to the jury’s decision in the Kermit Gosnell murder trial. He was found guilty of first degree murder in 3 of the 4 babies’ deaths and involuntary manslaughter in the death of a patient. He’s guilty of 1 count of infanticide, 1 count of racketeering, 5 counts of conspiracy, 21 counts of illegal late-term abortions (past the 24-week limit in PA), and 211 counts of violating a state law requiring a 24-hour waiting period. In total, Gosnell was found guilty of 243 crimes!
The good news is that Kermit Gosnell received 3 life sentences without parole and will never hurt women or their babies again. I’m guessing this verdict sent a shiver up the spines of every late-term abortionist who violates the law—fearing that one of the staff might turn them in.
What’s been revealing in the aftermath of the murder trial is Planned Parenthood’s response to the verdict. The Planned Parenthood Action Fund twitter account read, “ A just verdict. The jury has rightly convicted Gosnell for his appalling crimes, ensuring no woman is victimized by him ever again.”
Did you notice something missing from their tweet? There was absolutely no mention of the babies. Gosnell’s heaviest sentences were for murdering babies. According to Planned Parenthood, this was a trial on victimizing women, not murder, as if ignoring the facts will make them go away.
Dayle Steinberg, president of Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania, and Eric Ferrero, vice president for communications of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, laid out their strategy for dealing with the PR nightmare in a May 14 online article in The Daily Beast. Will it be successful? I’ll report. You decide.
They took offense to pro-life “false attempts to connect Gosnell to lawful abortion providers.” These 2 pro-abortion activists, along with many others, are attempting to portray Gosnell’s facility as an illegal establishment; when in reality, it enjoyed the same legal status as Planned Parenthood abortion facilities and all other abortion mills. Gosnell was one of their own, and he wasn’t an exception. Gosnell is the face of abortion in America today.
And we don’t have to go far to find proof. The Wilmington, Delaware Planned Parenthood recently fired their abortionist and suspended surgical abortions. Not out of concern for women’s health, but because 2 nurses quit and went public. They did so because Planned Parenthood wouldn’t do anything to rectify the atrocities inside their abortion mill. Nurses Jayne Mitchell-Werbrich and Joyce Vasikonis said women received a “meat-market style of assembly-line abortions.” The abortionist refused to wear gloves, and the procedure tables were left bloody when used by the next patient. Surgical instruments weren’t cleaned before reuse. State laws requiring parental consent were violated, and untrained staff performed key duties. Since the beginning of the year, 5 women have been rushed to the hospital from the Delaware facility. Mitchell-Werbrich said, “I couldn’t tell you how ridiculously unsafe it was.”
Does this sound like “quality abortion care”?
A story that just broke this week reported state officials have agreed to investigate late-term abortionist, Douglas Karpen, in Houston, TX who by comparison, makes Kermit Gosnell look milder. Here’s a link to more details , but I caution you, it’s not for the faint of heart.
When Planned Parenthood’s primary patient income is generated from killing innocent preborn children, it’s not surprising to see them play fast and loose with the facts to sell their deadly agenda. In the same online article, Steinberg and Ferrero say pro-life laws that require abortion mills to provide the same standard of care as other out-patient surgical centers will drive women to illegal back-alley abortionists like Gosnell.
Planned Parenthood is lying in a desperate attempt to distance itself from Gosnell, but the evidence is sticking to them like glue. What happened in Philadelphia is all too commonly happening throughout the abortion industry—including Planned Parenthood facilities. Planned Parenthood has a new corporate logo, and it’s the face of Kermit Gosnell.
Pro-abortion activists have long said “legal abortion is safe abortion” and now the recent development in Philly’s “House of Horrors” proves otherwise. Legal abortion merely relocated the back alley door to main street. Everything in-between remained the same. Meanwhile, millions of babies are dying the most gruesome and violent deaths imaginable while many of their mothers are physically and emotionally maimed. Many women pay with their lives.
You and I must counter the abortion industry lies by standing as bright beacons of truth. The deaths of these babies and women won’t be in vain if we tell everyone what we know about the horrors of abortion. Start shining your light today.
