No Justice for Newborn Infant

Bradley Mattes   |   February 16, 2012

Katrina Effert secretly gave birth to a baby in her parents’’ basement in Alberta, Canada. She then strangled the infant and threw the body over the fence into the neighbor’’s yard. The parents weren’’t even aware she was pregnant. Two juries convicted Katrina of murder, but a judge overruled them. He gave her no jail time, citing Canada’’s acceptance of legalized abortion. He further said pregnancy and childbirth are tough for mothers without support, even though she lived with her parents. Tragically, Canada’s Supreme Court agreed with the judge. Be aware this is a country where a pastor was arrested and fined for preaching homosexuality as a sin, saying it was a hate crime, but infanticide is understandable. Our friends up north have lost their way, and sadly America’’s not far behind.
